Getting So Big

We hit 2 milestones this weekend! First, Makayla transitioned from her crib to her toddler bed! She's been sleeping on a blanket on the floor for the past few weeks, so yesterday, Chad converted her crib to the toddler bed. (We still have the blankets on the floor, just in case we need them.) She's been napping for over 2 hours in the bed, so I thought I'd snap a photo!

Our second milestone was that last night Makayla learned to climb up onto the kitchen chairs. She can then go from the chair onto the table! YIKES! So, this morning I had to clean up my mess of wrapping paper supplies from the table!! No more leaving half-finished projects on the table...

Snowstorm Fun

We got 14" of snow on Wednesday, so Makayla and I stayed home while Chad braved the roads with his truck and plow! I got Makayla all bundled up and we went outside for a few minutes! She wasn't a big fan of the snow suit and boots or of trying to stand or walk in the snow, but she liked to get pulled around in her sled!

Happy Thanksgiving

We visited Grandpa and Grandma Sandoval for Thanksgiving. Makayla got to try on one of her Christmas dresses, she got to open some early Christmas gifts, and she had fun playing at the park with Grandma!

Jealous Makayla

Although she's getting better, Makayla still gets jealous every time I hold another child! I was holding my niece Addison and Makayla dropped what she was doing to come over and crawl up on my lap! Then she decided to help me by patting Addison on the back!

Splish Splash

The Evers gang spent a November weekend at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Makayla wasn't too sure about the water park the first night, but had fun walking around and splashing the next 2 days! She didn't like the slide...I think it went to fast for her! She liked to watch the big bucket of water dumping every few minutes! We all had a blast...and even relaxed a little on the lazy river!

Happy Halloween

Makayla was a ladybug for Halloween! Chad and I were the Boogieman and Boogiewoman. (We all had bad colds that weekend, so Chad and I were covered in Makayla's boogies!) We didn't even have to dress-up! :)

Chad took Makayla around to a few houses and she even got a sticker and coloring book from the fireman! Makayla loved putting candy into and out-of her candy bucket, especially the candy in orange wrappers! She really had no clue that she could eat what was in the packages. She did have her first taste of candy after she got done trick-or-treating, but hasn't missed it since!

Pumpkin Farm

We took Makayla to pick out a few pumpkins for Halloween! The weather was very cool, but at least the sun came out for a few hours, so we bundled her up and headed out! She had fun running around outside, although she could care less about the Pumpkins! :)

Friday Fun!

Makayla had a few friends over to play...Ella, Emma, and Henry! And of course, Mom had some friends over too! :) We didn't get a photo of Emma, but here's Makayla with Ella and Makayla with Henry! This was the first time that it seemed like Makayla and Ella actually played "together" instead of just playing next to each other. (Although it did take Makayla a few minutes to warm up to our guests and share her toys!) And by the end of our get together, Makayla also warmed up to Mom holding another baby...this is something we need to keep practicing!

Peek-a-Boo!

At bathtime, Makayla thinks it's funny to sit in the cupboard and close the doors and then I have to ask, "Where is Makayla?" and then she will fling open the doors and laugh!

Fun at the Park with Grandma

Last week Makayla had fun with Grandpa and Grandma. They were visiting for a week during Dad's 2 week trip to England! Makayla had fun with Grandma and Grandpa and Mom got a little break! We took Makayla to the park just before the crazy cold weather hit! She had a blast!

Makayla and Her Dolls

Makayla's latest past-time is to take my kitchen towels, cover up her dolls, and pat them on the back or stomach. She will sit there with 3 or 4 dolls and take turns patting them! I think she is pretending that she is the teacher at daycare. At nap time, the kids lay down on their cots and the teachers give them a blanket and pat them on the back! It's amazing how long Makayla will sit there and do this...

Swimming with Dad

We've been lovin' this September weather...we've had the boat out every weekend this month! Wow! Makayla had a blast swimming with Dad!

Labor Day Weekend

Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Monica and Uncle Jeff came to visit for labor day weekend! The weather was beautiful so we spent lots of time outside!

New Wagon

Not only does Makayla LOVE to be outside, she also loves her new wagon!

Apple Picking

We spent a Sunday picking apples and making apple sauce with Nana and Papa! Here's some photos of Makayla enjoying the apples! I will NOT publish the photos of Chad and his dad picking the apples from the top of the tree. Let's just say..."you should not try this at home!"
