Makayla was helping me open a birthday present on Sunday and decided that she needed to try on my new pajamas!

Play Date Fun!

Makayla's friend Ella came over to play on Friday. They took a while to warm up to each other, but were playing together nicely by the end of the play date! Ella is going to be a big sister too in a few weeks! :)

Caught Some Smiles

Lydia has started smiling recently! It usually happens during the afternoon when she has a full tummy and is very awake and alert! I've been trying for a few days to catch a smile, but it wasn't until yesterday that I actually got one on camera! Makayla didn't want to miss out on the action, so she gave me a big smile too! :)

Fun in the Sun

Makayla just LOVES to play outside! With our unusually warm spring, we've had lots of outside playtime. Makayla has also become a fan of slides! She loves going to the park and playing on the neighbors slides, so we found her a slide of her own (gotta love Craig's List)! When we are driving around in the van, she will point out all the slides that she sees and get excited! Chad and Makayla went and picked up the boat today! Makayla helped Dad start getting the boat ready for summer!

Happy Baby

In general, Lydia is a pretty happy and content baby! Here are some random shots taken over the past 2 weeks or so.

Tummy Time

Here's Lydia at about 4 weeks. She was having a little "tummy time" and practicing lifting her head!

Dad and the Girls!

One night, both girls decided to snuggle on Dad's lap and watch a little TV before bed. Makayla likes to watch Wheel of Fortune and have a sippy cup of milk or juice. (This used to be her time for an evening bottle, so the need for a "drink" has stuck.) Makayla has also become a Daddy's Girl now that Lydia is here. Makayla likes Dad to sit with her on the couch and likes Dad to put her to bed. She will get very jealous if Dad is holding Lydia and would prefer that Mom hold Lydia so that Dad can hold her! This was a rare moment where she was happily sharing Dad with Lydia!

What a Day!

We've had some gorgeous weather recently and Makayla has spent lots of time outside! On the day we took this photo, she had taken a short and unusually early nap. Then she played outside and was exhausted by dinner time. All of the sudden, she was sleeping at the table...while still holding her chicken nugget! It was only 6pm! We tried to wake her up after 20 minutes, but no such luck! So then we changed her diaper and put her PJ's on. This woke her up, but afterwards, she just crawled into Chad's lap, put her head down, and was out again! We put her in her bed and she was done for the night!

Happy Easter
