Riding First Class!

We bought a new carseat for Makayla. She still fits in her old one and we're hoping to use the old one through the winter, but this one was on sale, so we decided to get it now. Makayla tried it out and likes it.

Learning to Sit

Makayla is learning to sit on her own! She was tired in these photos, so we didn't really get any smiles. Normally she sits with the pillows around her and plays with the toys in front of her. She can lean forward, pick up a toy, and then sit back up. Sometimes she gets tired of sitting. In the second photo, she's taking a little break from sitting! Her back seems stronger every day! Sometimes she can lean forward and to the side and flop onto her belly to reach a toy. But then she gets mad because she can't get off of her belly!
One morning this week, Makayla had no interest in eating. She just kept squirming and looking at the toys on the floor and then throwing herself back. Finally, I set her down to play and she was happy!

She's also getting more mobile. She doesn't roll over very often, but she squirms a lot. Yesterday morning, I found her rotated 180 degrees in her crib! I assumed Chad had moved her, but turns out that somehow she rotated herself. Not sure how she did it...she must have used her feet to spin herself around on her back.

Yum...Peas!

Makayla tried peas for the first time. She wasn't that hungry, so most of the peas ended up on her face. She also sneezed a mouthful onto Mom! :)

Bummin' with Friends

Makayla and Ella got together again this week! They both decided to show off for each other! Makayla rolled from her tummy to her back and Ella rolled from her back to her tummy! This was the first time Makayla rolled over since her debut on New Year's Day. It had been several days since Ella rolled over too! They were definitely showing off and their mothers were quite proud! :)

A Big Smile For Dad

Rolling into the New Year

Makayla decided to "roll" into the new year! She rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time on 1-1-09. She spent a lot of time practicing with Dad to learn how! She also is getting better at sitting with some pillows around her or propped up against something! You can see her sitting on the couch and also sitting next to Dad reading a book.

What...I missed Christmas?!

Makayla decided she felt better after we got back to Wisconsin! She smiled so nicely in her Santa shirt! However, she didn't find the antlers very amusing!

Christmas with the Sandoval's

We spent Christmas in Michigan. Makayla had a cold that week, so she was kind of a party pooper and slept a lot! She slept through us opening our gifts and got to open hers later! You can see the look of joy on her face as she opens her gifts! I think she would have rather been sleeping!

Christmas with the Evers

We celebrated an early Christmas here in Wisconsin. Makayla wore her new Christmas dress! Here's a photo of Makayla and Mom and another photo of Makayla with her Nana and Papa and her 11 cousins! She's the "dozen cousin". It was tricky to get all the cousins to sit on the couch at the same time! Makayla blends right in...can you spot her?
