January Fun!

Makayla had a play date Friday with her friend Ella! They are 8 days apart in age and have been getting together for play dates since they've been born! Ella's mom, Louise, is also expecting a baby in June!

Makayla thought it would be fun to dress like Mom...she's wearing my badge and pager in this photo!

An Exciting 2010!

By the time we got home from Michigan, Makayla was a pro at opening gifts! Lucky for her, she had a few more gifts waiting for her in January! :)

After all the fun holiday celebrations, we've gotten back into our "normal" routine! However, we're also getting ready for baby #2, who is due on March 6, 2010! (Yikes...that is only 8 weeks from today!) So "normal" will soon be changing! Chad is busy working on finishing the basement and I'm busy working on finishing up at work and preparing for maternity leave. I plan to have 3 weeks off of work before my due date, but if this baby is anything like Makayla, I'll only have 1 week off! Luckily, we have most of the baby-gear that we need. It just needs to be hauled up from the basement construction zone and dusted off! :)

Christmas with the Sandovals

Here are some pics from our Holiday celebrations in Michigan!

Makayla had fun opening presents with Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Steve, Aunt Emily, and Uncle Pat!

We celebrated with the Neubeckers and had a white-elephant gift exchange!

We visited Great Grandma and Great Grandpa and took Great Grandma a birthday cake!

Caught in the Act

Makayla just LOVES to run around without any clothes! She usually makes a run for it when we're trying to put her PJ's on or take them off! She hasn't quite mastered taking off her diaper, but she definitely tries! :)

She also likes to sit on the potty! She's starting to understand when she pees, but she always tells me after the fact! Or she'll pee on the floor immediately after her bath and as it's running down her leg, she points to the toilet! (You think I'd learn to just sit her on the toilet after her bath...) We haven't been trying to potty-train her, but certainly don't discourage her from sitting on the potty a few times a day! She also gets to watch some of the older toddlers using the potty at daycare, so this may be sparking her interest!

Christmas with the Evers

Here are some pics from the Evers Family Christmas and cousin Brielle and cousin Addison's Birthdays!

Getting So Big

We hit 2 milestones this weekend! First, Makayla transitioned from her crib to her toddler bed! She's been sleeping on a blanket on the floor for the past few weeks, so yesterday, Chad converted her crib to the toddler bed. (We still have the blankets on the floor, just in case we need them.) She's been napping for over 2 hours in the bed, so I thought I'd snap a photo!
Our second milestone was that last night Makayla learned to climb up onto the kitchen chairs. She can then go from the chair onto the table! YIKES! So, this morning I had to clean up my mess of wrapping paper supplies from the table!! No more leaving half-finished projects on the table...

Snowstorm Fun

We got 14" of snow on Wednesday, so Makayla and I stayed home while Chad braved the roads with his truck and plow! I got Makayla all bundled up and we went outside for a few minutes! She wasn't a big fan of the snow suit and boots or of trying to stand or walk in the snow, but she liked to get pulled around in her sled!

Happy Thanksgiving

We visited Grandpa and Grandma Sandoval for Thanksgiving. Makayla got to try on one of her Christmas dresses, she got to open some early Christmas gifts, and she had fun playing at the park with Grandma!

Jealous Makayla

Although she's getting better, Makayla still gets jealous every time I hold another child! I was holding my niece Addison and Makayla dropped what she was doing to come over and crawl up on my lap! Then she decided to help me by patting Addison on the back!
