Lydia's Baptism

Lydia was baptized on June 13th. Unfortunately, the day before, we took her to the doctor for a double ear infection. Thank goodness we got her on the antibiotics and some Tylenol before her big day! She was very good in church, and luckily, Makayla was too! I think God must have decided to be extra nice to me that day! We shared the baptism with friends and family and then had lunch at our house afterwards!

As Lydia was getting baptized, Makayla says to me, "Lydia wash hair!"

Lydia's godparents are Tim and Amy EversGrandpa and Grandma came over from Michigan for the baptism and a long weekend visit! Here's the entire Evers clan....

Of course, we did not get any smiles with Lydia in her dress...however, she gave Dad some huge smiles later that afternoon! :)

Frappe Fun

So I absolutely LOVE the frappes at McDonald's! However, I hate the 550 calories that come with it, so I've been experimenting with my own version in my Magic Bullet blender. I have found a pretty good low calorie version (recipe below). Last weekend I made Makayla a chocolate smoothie and she even got whip cream on top! However, she had more fun smearing the whip cream all over the table and then her face! I have no idea what possessed her to smear it on her face, but it made for a good photo...and a good mess to clean up!
My 100 calorie frappe recipe:
-1/4 cup Activia light vanilla yogurt
-1/2 cup silk light chocolate soy milk
-1 cup ice chunks
-splash of espresso
-2 TBSP light whip cream
Blend this in the Magic Bullet Blender until it's smooth. You might have to shake it up a few times.

Summer Fun

Last week we had fun with Katie, Emma, and Lila! Katie is a friend from Tech who lives in the area. Emma is about 4 months older than Makayla and Lila is about 1 month younger than Lydia! Emma and Makayla played so nicely together! You can see them having fun with bubbles in this photo! (and if you look closely, you can see me and Lydia too!)

Catchin' some Z's

Silly Girls!

So Big!

Lydia is growing so fast...as you can see from the photos of her!

On June 3rd she rolled over from her back to her belly! Unfortunately, I didn't actually see her do it. She was laying on her back on the living room floor while I was running around doing laundry and cleaning up. All of the sudden I walk by and she's on her belly! She's only done it the once, but she will roll from her back onto her side.

She's also getting very good at grabbing onto things and putting them into her mouth! She likes to suck on her hand and fingers too! Sometimes she gets her fingers so far into her mouth that she gags herself! She has started sucking her thumb sometimes when she is falling asleep! We caught a photo of her as she was sucking her thumb!

Outside

Makayla's favorite thing to do is go outside! She could spend all day outside! Below is a photo of her making bubbles with her new bubble wand. There is also a photo of me and Lydia! Lydia LOVES to watch Makayla. I've started carrying her in the baby bjorn and she is so content to just watch Makayla play...until she falls asleep! I used it so much last week that my lower back was killing me...I guess I should work up to using it for multiple hours!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend in Northern Wisconsin was absolutely beautiful! It felt like August, not May! We had a blast at the Evers' family cabin with Nana, Papa, Aunt Julie, Uncle Tim, and cousins Tyler, Ryan, and Lucas!

Makayla's Recent Mischief

Last week I had a pile of groceries sitting in the kitchen as I packed to head up North to the Evers' Family cabin. Makayla went and got a cutting board, hauled the pineapple over to her kitchen counter, and got a plastic knife to cut the pineapple. We try to eat lots of fruits and veggies, so she knows what a pineapple is!Last week I noticed that all of the sudden Makayla was very quiet. I walked around the house looking for her and here's where I found her...in the bathroom closet! She had opened a tissue box, pulled about 2/3 of the tissues out of a box, and was blowing her nose! (Disclaimer: I know I work for P&G and I know I just spent a year of my life working to upgrade Puffs...we just have Kleenex left over from when Chad worked at KC several years ago. We're on our last 4-5 boxes of Kleenex, which is why they were upstairs in the closet. Makayla was just helping me to use them up quicker! If you look closely, you can see my Puffs buried under the pile of tissue!) Also notice that Makayla has no clothes on! She often hates getting dressed, so I hadn't fought that battle yet when this photo was taken!

New Stuff

Here's Makayla wearing her new dress from Aunt Margaret. She's lying in her new bed in her new bedroom! (More pics of the bedroom after I paint it...hopefully later this week)

Here's Lydia wearing her super cute new outfit from Aunt Aleatha and Uncle Jim. She's sporting her new double chin!
