Look Mom...1 Hand!
Lydia has been on the move lately! In the past 2 weeks, she's figured out how to sit, crawl, and stand! She sat for about a week or so, crawled for about a week, and now she prefers standing! She tries to pull herself up on everything...including the wall, doorways, her crib, my leg, the coffee table, and the kitchen chairs! She is pretty fearless and has taken some good tumbles! But she gets back up and tries again! She's even made a few attempts at walking...her upper body lunges, but her feet don't move and she falls down! I've constantly got my eye on her these days! No more sitting her down and expecting her to stay put!
These are some photos of Lydia on Wednesday evening...it was the first time that she was actually able to get to the standing position.

We took a road trip over to Michigan to visit my parents in mid-August. Chad was in Texas for work for 2 weeks for work, so my mom and dad spent about a week here and then we took the ferry across Lake Michigan to hang out at their house for a week. Chad and my brothers and their wives/girlfriend were all home for the last weekend of our visit! We had an awesome weekend having all the family together! And Lydia got to meet her Aunts and Uncles! We also made it over to see my grandparents and my cousin Andy's newborn twins! Here are a few snapshots from our visit!

Happy 2nd Birthday Makayla!
Makayla turned 2 on August 2nd! Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa, and all the Evers cousins and Aunts and Uncles helped us celebrate! Makayla was a little shy about all the attention, but she had a blast!
Makayla's Adventures
Makayla has had a few play dates with her friend Ella. It's great because I get to chat with Ella's Mom, Louise! And Lydia gets to hang out with Ella's brother, Jayden! Below is a photo of the 4 kids hanging out!
One day we met at Kidzland in Green Bay. The girls had a blast playing with all the toys!

Good Morning Peek-a-Boo
Lydia is trying so hard to pull herself up to standing! She's done it a few times, although usually ends up falling over! However, her falls don't seem to slow her down! Here she is trying to stand up in her crib! She ended up tumbling backwards before she made it to a full standing position...
Lydia's Adventures
Lydia learned how to sit up about 10 days ago! She's also a pro at rolling around and scooting around. She never sits still anymore. And she's also taking every opportunity she can find to try to stand up!
Below, Lydia had been playing quietly on the blanket and then I peeked in the room and didn't see her. Turns out she rolled off of the blanket and into the little house. It must have looked fun when Makayla was playing in there!

Here's Lydia having a blast playing in the infant area at Kidzland in Green Bay. Grandma was visiting and she and Lydia had fun playing together!
Before she learned to sit up on her own, we'd prop Lydia up with these Boppy Pillows and she was able to watch Makayla playing.
Lydia LOVES to chew on Makayla's toys! Makayla doesn't like this too much!
When Makayla isn't around, Lydia makes herself at home in Makayla's toys!
Here's one of Lydia's moves before she learned to sit. She would push herself up like this and kept getting higher and higher until one day she figured out how to sit!
We've started Lydia on some baby food and she LOVES it! She also loves watermelon in those mesh baby food feeders. (I have no idea what they are called)

Sisters
Here's Lydia trying out her new high chair. Now she can sit at the dinner table with us!

Makayla loves this little couch! What a great rummage sale find!
This was a rough morning. You can see Makayla sleeping in her high chair and if you look closely, you can spot Lydia sleeping in the sea of toys! This photo was taken shortly before Lydia learned to roll around! Now that she can roll, she rarely falls asleep on the floor!

Summer Time
My friend Michelle has a granddaughter who is 2 months younger than Lydia! She came over with Mackenzie and we took the girls for a walk!
