Monica's Baby Shower

My Mom and I helped plan a baby shower for my brother, Jeff, and sister-in-law, Monica.  They are expecting a baby girl in April!  We coordinated across 4 states with Monica's mom, Peggy, and sister, Marcy!  The shower was in Minnesota and was tons of fun!

Here are our party favors!

I made more of my yummy cake pops!

Here's Monica, me, and my Mom!

More Food Adventures

I've been experimenting some with raw foods and I recently bought a dehydrator.  Here are some of my first attempts!

Sweet Potato chips made in my dehydrator!  These were rather bland...I lightly salted them, but they need more flavor next time around!  Chad and the girls didn't really like them!

An assortment of sprouted beans!  These tasted very earthy.  I added them to salads and scrambled eggs.  Next time around I need to make a smaller batch...they grew pretty big!  I keep forgetting to toss a few into my smoothies!

These are chocolate tarts...made without any dairy or baking!  The main ingredient in the chocolate is avocado!   These were my favorites...probably because they are a dessert!  My dad even liked them and he has quite the sweet tooth!  ;)

These were a close runner up and maybe even tied for my favorites!  These were also made in the dehydrator and tasted like the insides of an Almond Joy candy bar...only even better!  I think I ate half of these before they were even fully dehydrated!

These are dehydrated kale chips...these have a yummy coating on them and were actually pretty tasty!  I think I'll use the same coating on my sweet potato chips and see how they taste!

Half Birthday Fun

Makayla celebrated her half birthday, Feb 2nd, at school!  We had fun making birthday treats to take to her friends!  I was amazed at how much Makayla helped me to make these treats!  Our project spanned several days as the paint and glue had to dry!

Here we are painting clothespins!

Next we had to decorate each clothespin with glitter glue and add eyes!  Makayla had fun using the extra glitter glue to make designs!

Here are our painted and glittered clothespins!

Here's our final project....clothespin butterfly trail mix!  Makayla even picked out all the ingredients for the trail mix and helped me fill the bags.  Although she and Lydia both discovered that they do not like the pastel colored marshmallows!  :)

An up close shot!

Ooh, Makayla got her very own camera...she's been asking for one of these for a while!
