Makayla was one excited 9 year old! She'd been planning her parties and counting down the days for weeks! We celebrated early with the Sandoval's in Minnesota. Here are a few pix of her actual birthday. We gave her our family gifts that day!
Makayla was super excited and super proud to get this new bike! It just happens to coordinate beautifully with the new bike helmet that she picked earlier in the summer!
We made cupcakes for her actual birthday and saved her fancy cake for her party with friends!
Lydia saved her own money and bought these 18" doll glasses for Makayla. She was so proud of her gift and couldn't wait for Makayla to open it! She actually give her gift a few days early. She let Makayla pick one pair of glasses and then Lydia kept the other pair of glasses!
Makayla wanted to have a sleep-over this year to celebrate with her friends! We had a mix of school friends and cousins over, although only the school friends chose to stay overnight! The theme was Frozen. Makayla had a blast decorating and I think all the kids had fun!
Snowman (Olaf) snack mix!
Ice (jello)
Makayla really wanted a pinata for her birthday! We found this cute Frozen themed pinata!
Makayla also really wanted an ice cream cake! (Did I mention she had her birthday planned for weeks?!?!) We went to Baskin Robbins for this cake and I about fell over at the cost! Any mention of a smaller cake did not go over well, so we splurged on this 2 tier ice cream cake! We did save most of the bottom and used it for Makayla's party with the Evers side, so at least it worked for two parties! And, of course, we enjoyed ice cream cake for several days after!!
We added Elsa and Olaf to the cake!
A little more celebrating a few days later with grandparents and god parents on the Evers side!
(There's that ice cream cake again!)
